Do you get fustrated when people have a bad taste of movies?
I really don’t want to sound snobby, but… SERIOUSLY.
My favourite film is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, among MANY others. Good, imaginative films like Fight Club, Memento, Amelie. And my friends all think I am completely stupid. I made a couple of friends watch The Shawshank Redemption once and they sat there laughing at it like ‘Why on earth do you like this it is about a bloke in prison who wants to get out… big deal’. I GET SO FRUSTRATED. I mean, I’m not saying that I have a great taste in films, or that I am better than them. But seriously. By the way, the girls I was talking about, their favourite movie is Twilight. Yes, I am not even kidding.
It’s the same with music. I mean, I know that this is different because everyone can have a completely different taste in music but when I listen to The Beatles or Regina Spektor they actually laugh and turn it over.
Agai, I’m not trying to be intellectually snobby. It’s just, I feel like I need SOMEBODY to agree with me because it makes me SO annoyed.
i am SO glad that i’m not just being really conceited. and yeah, i’m only fifteen and all of my friends are retards too.
Yes I get frustrated sometimes.
Of course, it’s all about a person’s tastes and everyone is different. However, sometimes it is frustrating when a clearly bad movie is put down or vice versa. I see that a lot and oftentimes think "what have these people been watching that they think this is good?"
To each his own though.

i totally agree with you its not snobby
i am a lover of films that you have to work out the plot and puts you on the edge of the seat with twists and turns.
my fav is the butterfly effect.

I try not to get frustrated, my bf loves some CRAP movies, but oh well, different people like different things. I do get frustrated when people don’t know anything about films they claim to love (I am talking to you Burton fans who think he was part of Coraline) or people who go on about these crappy remakes being the best goriest horror films ever. Have they even seen many horror films? Looks outside of American film, you’ll find your gory films aren’t that bad. Those are things that frustrate me, but I do try not to get angry about it but it’s hard. I love a lot of the films that have recently been remade and it’s irritating that people flock to these sub-par remakes and actually think they are better solely because they do not want to watch anything over 5 years old or foreign. People who refuse to watch movies that are over a certain age will miss out on all the best films.

I’m 14 and EVERYONE is like this. All my friends are retards, I like them, sometimes…arrgg, they think Transformers and The Dark Knight are the best movies ever (dark knight is pretty good though).

Not really, taste in films are subjective, and I respect that. It does bother me if someone makes fun of my taste in movies though. The Shawshank Redemption is my all time favourite movie, and if one of my friends really didnt like it, that would bother me for sure. It sounds like you just have a more mature taste in movies than your friends. That’s ok, that’s a good thing really. they’ll probably catch up to you someday
If their idea of a good movie is Twilight, they have a LOT of growing up to do. I remember back in February I was on here, and a bunch of girls kept asking the question "Why wasn’t twilight nominated for best picture?" It made me want to cry.

I don’t care what movies people like or don’t like. I just hate it when people go all crazy and twist up the facts or what not of the movie.
Like Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. I didn’t like either movie and other people did. No big deal. What got me going is these morons running around thinking these are real movies. You know based on true events and actual film.
Same for any movie "based off a true story" You have to take that with a grain of salt since most are very very very loosely based off it.
Texas Chainsaw massacre. Seriously google the true story and it is nothing and I mean nothing like the films.
